When a leaking bathtub drain began sending water into the unit below, 24/7 Services was called for professional Plumbing in Niles, IL. Our team identified deteriorated drain components serving Unit 1J and completed a comprehensive repair to stop the leak and restore proper drainage.
The existing bathtub drainage system included aging 1½-inch galvanized piping, along with a drum trap, vent, and waste-and-overflow assembly. These components had deteriorated and needed to be removed before we could properly repair the plumbing.
After removing the old piping, our plumbers rodded the drain line to the stack to help clear the line and ensure proper flow.
We replaced the deteriorated plumbing with new PVC components, including:
The updated PVC piping provides a reliable replacement for the older galvanized drain system, while the new cleanout provides better access for future drain maintenance if needed.
After completing the installation, we filled the bathtub until water reached the overflow and then allowed it to drain completely. Our team thoroughly tested the repaired system and confirmed that the bathtub was draining properly with no leaks at the time of completion.
For commercial and multi-unit plumbing repairs, identifying and correcting leaks quickly can help prevent water damage from spreading to neighboring units. 24/7 Services is proud of its outstanding online reputation and customer reviews and provides professional plumbing solutions throughout the Chicagoland area.
