A homeowner recently contacted 24/7 Services for plumbing service in Oak Brook, IL after noticing staining in the basement ceiling and cupping of the wood flooring around a first-floor powder room toilet. Our team inspected the affected areas to identify the plumbing concerns and determine the appropriate next steps.
During the inspection, we determined that the toilet needed to be removed so the damaged flooring around it could be properly repaired. The homeowner planned to have the flooring work completed before our team returned to finish the plumbing portion of the project.
Once the flooring was ready, we installed a new Toto UltraMax toilet, completing the powder room portion of the project.
While at the home, our technician also inspected several other important components of the plumbing system. We confirmed that the home had a functioning main water shutoff valve and a 75-gallon water heater.
The inspection also identified corrosion on the sump pump backup battery and a water leak in the utility room. Bringing these additional concerns to the homeowner’s attention helps them plan necessary maintenance or repairs before the problems become more serious.
Homeowners throughout the area turn to 24/7 Services for professional plumbing repairs and inspections, backed by our outstanding online reputation and customer reviews.
